IS THERE A GOLF SWING THAT’S SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT?

Golf instruction, in my humble opinion, is one of the most mysterious professions of all. We approach the golf pro meekly, a little self-conscious because of our horrible golf swings and with a hope that he’ll like us enough to hand over the “good stuff.”

IS THERE A GOLF SWING THAT’S SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT?

IS THERE A GOLF SWING THAT’S SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT?

The first few times taking golf lessons is a lot different than what it’s like going down that road after years of building and maintaining poor mechanics. You’ve become a bundle of compensations…..a wrinkled mess in search of a hot iron. Let’s look at both scenarios.

Fresh-faced and optimistic, the beginning golfer usually faces his or her first few lessons with a “whatever” attitude. You’re hoping for the best but accept that golf might not be a driving force in your life, besides, you might really stink at it.
To those beginners I have this advice. Subsequent to taking a few lessons, ask your pro for an honest evaluation of whether he feels you have the skills be an above average golfer in the future. Then go beyond that and show your newly-learned golf swing to some golfer friends. Don’t discount the possibility that your pro might paint a rosier picture in order to sell a few more sessions. However, if he defers to the “I can’t really tell from just a few lessons” reply, run for your car. In any event, even though they aren’t pros, you might get more realistic feedback from your fellow golfers.

But don’t give up the game if it’s something you enjoy. Just don’t make work of it. Regarding your swing, go with what feels comfortable and by all means send for my OVER THE TOP GOLF® instructional eBook to learn the five set-up changes that will have you hitting straight golf shots for maximum enjoyment-using your own swing!

Experienced golfers come in all categories and descriptions. Male/female, young/old, good/bad, a few years golfing/way too many years golfing and so on. In general, the least proficient are the ones who have taken the most lessons.
Whoa, back up a sec…..did I read that correctly? That more lessons equals a worse golf swing? Well, you read it right and the old adage “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing” was never more apropos than in this example. A further explanation is that golf instruction serves to remove many of the native physical talents we’re endowed with at birth. In the example of my OVER THE TOP GOLF® swing it’s the path of least resistance, so to speak, that the body takes when it causes us to come over the top.

There are other instinctive things we do like looking up too soon or standing too far away from the ball. Due to its intrinsic awkwardness, the “proper” golf swing makes our bodies uncomfortable. Lessons begin to establish unnatural movements into our swings. And going on the assumption that most of us won’t ever be able to learn and practice every one of these inter-related unnatural movements, we’ll begin to self-medicate when those inevitable problems arise. It’s tough to compensate for a faulty back swing or an incomplete weight transfer once you’ve basically abandoned all of your natural instincts. You are now forced to rely on other things you’ve learned, perhaps something you’re forgetting to do. Maybe close the club face just a little…..Face it, you are lost.

Now there’s a method where all of your bad habits become valuable assets. STOP trying to learn anything further and buy my OVER THE TOP GOLF® eBook. Using your own swing plus five set-up changes, you’ll notice the added distance and consistently straight ball flight at once.

So is the OVER THE TOP GOLF® swing so easy a caveman can do it? Where’s a caveman when you really need one?
